I am currenlty waiting for an ultrasound at the hospital. I’ve always suffered from painful and heavy periods. When I was in my teens, my periods were also irregular. At the age of 16, I went on the combined pill to make my periods less painful and less heavy. This worked for a few years. However, in the last year, my periods have become heavier again and more painful. During my period, I get excruciating lower abdominal cramps. I also have really painful bowel movements during this time.
I also have a pain in the lower right hand side of my tummy which has been getting worse over the last 3 months but started a year ago. Sometimes I also get a dull ache in my lower back or my lower tummy. I am regularly bloated and lately have been suffering from gas and indigestion. The bloating is worse during my period. I have also had bleeding between my pill breaks the last couple of months.
I do also have an auntie that suffers from endometriosis.
Do all of these symptoms sound familiar as I am feeling very worried waiting to have an ultrasound?

I get all of them symptoms and mine is adenomyosis similar to endometriosis except it's in the womb only I hope that helps, are you waiting on a vaginal scan because mine was diagnosed that way 3 years ago. I hope your not waiting to long.
Hey! Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear that you have all of these symptoms too! I’m waiting on a pelvic ultrasound as my GP wants to check for any cysts. Just hate the waiting to know what it is!
I know it's frustrating waiting I had polyps in the womb along with this then had them removed it lessened the pain on my period but was still there I've tried the pill the marina coil I'm currently trying a tens machine along with the painkillers it's not too bad up to now takes your mind off the pain, I've just been referred for a hysterectomy which takes it away for good I can't wait, I hope yours is cysts and are removable🤞 good luck xx
Oh yeah I have heard about polyps as my friend has those too! Thankyou. I have finally got the appointment through and am having an internal ultrasound! Good luck with your hysterectomy, hope it goes well! Xx
Had my ultrasound today. Had an internal ultrasound too. He said that he couldn’t see any cysts but then part of my right ovary was blocked because of gas on the bowel on my right side. So now need to wait for my doctor! He also suggested having a blood test for endometriosis??
Oh a CA-125 blood test will see if you have a high level of a certain protein in your blood to see if it indicates endo if it does you should get a lap done after I think, did they say something like that? At least you can have adenomyosis ticked off your list as a no, hope all goes well, hope your feeling ok xx
