🔆hi everyone, I had some scans which found an endometriotic cyst on my left ovary. I’ve been referred to a gynaecologist for further advice/investigation but my dr said they aren’t likely to remove it as it isn’t showing signs of changing. Has anyone else experienced this and could tell me what steps the gynaecologist took? I want to know what I might happen once the gynaecologist sees me. Thanks🔆

🔆endo cyst🔆
When I had a cyst on each ovary, a chocolate cyst which was 1cm all they done was told me to wait and see if it grew bigger or gave me symptoms. This was about 4 years ago. I then had another scan and they had disappeared.
Fast forward 4 years I now have multiple cysts and been told that this is normal for my condition of endo and adeno however as I have symptoms, I have been referred to the gynaecology consultant as my GP thinks I may need another laparoscopy.
I hope that helps x
When I had a cyst on left ovary ( 9 years ago ) it was 6cm and I was told they had to remove (through laparoscopy) as if it got any bigger they would need to make incision to remove. This was a gynaecologist that found my cyst through an internal scan.
They will be able to tell you the size and hopefully monitor going forward. ❤️
Hi, I guess it depends if you are in pain too? Do you have endometriosis? How old are you? Cysts can be nothing or they could be the growing more and cause problems. They will y set stand the scan more and explain to you then. Hope it goes well.
they sound my chocolate cyst 2 years ago it was 13cm. I’ve had prostap injections since but it’s stayed at 10.3 cms for over 1.5 years now. The only reason she won’t remove it is because I’m overweight. Now being referred to someone else. Good luck
Hi, it depends on the size of the cyst. There is research that shows the nutritional supplement NAC reduces the size of cysts. It also reduces the symptoms. Hopefully this may reduce your need for an operation. You may find a nutritional therapist who knows the condition at endometriosis.co.uk/
I had one and it disappeared on its own, hope you get things sorted out quickly, sending you a big hug 🤗
Hello! I had scan last year to help figure out why I couldn't get pregnant and they found a cyst, had a second scan to see if it had grown and as it had grown to 10cm I was referred to a gynaecologist at the hospital. They saw me and scheduled me right in for an op to remove it pretty quickly because it was so big. I never had any pain with the cyst, never suffered from bad periods or had any signs of endometriosis before this. I'm currently waiting for an internal scan as I wasn't happy with what the gynecologist said to me after my op, I never got much information about endometriosis so I asked to be referred to a different hospital. If you're in pain or it gets very big, they should remove it.
Hi, I've recently had a scan that found a cyst in my ovary- the consultant explained that we can monitor if it grows by repeating a scan in 2-6months time. If at that point it is large enough to be causing pain and potentially damage to surrounding structures then we may have to consider removal (ie surgery), but if it is not growing then just continue to monitor its size and whether it is causing pain/affecting my quality of life. They explained that if it is not an endometriotic cyst it may go away in time too. Hope your appointment goes well
