hi! so i randomly got a call yesterday arranging my laparoscopy after months of nothing! it's next thursday and i am so nervous. i've been waiting years for this but now i'm just so terrified they won't find anything. my scans came back relatively clear (although in my appointment today with my surgeon, he said there were small cysts on both ovaries, which was the first i heard about). i have every single symptom of endo that's common, or less common in some cases, and my mum and aunt both have it. the issues is i've been told numerous times there's nothing wrong with me as my scans, blood tests, swabs, urine tests etc. always come back normal. what's wrong with me is definitely not normal and it's been so bad i had to leave my job last month as they were not accommodating and made me stand all day, despite having severe cramps, lower back pain, leg pain and vertigo associated with extreme pain and pms. it's also been difficult getting help without a diagnosis. what's worse is i'm only 22! anyway, can anyone offer some reassurance? or did you have something similar with relatively normal scans but still found endo? it's not that i want to find endo, but i need a definitive answer to my pain and i've been convinced it's endo for so many years now i've pretty much accepted it.

Hi VioletCoffee, sending you good luck and healing vibes that your laparoscopy goes well this coming week. I'm only at the beginning of my journey with Endo so can't offer advice as such, but just hope you get the answers you're looking for and just sorry that your work hasn't been supportive or understanding.
100% know what you’re feeling. At the end of the day you want some reason for the pain - but you don’t want to wish endo upon yourself. Most of the time endo cannot be diagnosed with most scans - a lot of people will have ultrasounds and blood tests that all come back normal but will have Endo.
Good look for your lap. Stock up on peppermint tea to help with the gas pains. I hope you get some answers.
Good luck with the surgery, I know it’s scary and nerve wrecking but it’s so much better knowing for certain what’s going on with your body and this is the only way.
Here to support you 🙌
