Second laparoscopy

Morning ladies,

I had my second laparoscopy on Thursday as surgeons were unable to remove all endometriosis during my first op.

I have 4 incisions this time instead of 2 and I feel a lot worse than last time!

I know I'm only 4 days post op but just wondered if anyone else has had very different experiences with laparoscopy?

Last time was a lot less painful and I felt better a lot more quickly.

Hey, I have only had one Lap. But I had a lot cut away and a adhesion cut away I have 3 incisions and honestly I’m still recovering now about 11 weeks later. I’m back at work and fairly normal activities but still in pain and have to take rest days. X

Thank you Hannah

Sounds silly but I don't want people thinking I'm taking the mickey with it all!

Doesn’t sound silly at all I totally understand my hips seize up so I hobble around all the time and people comment and sometimes moan but I try to focus on managing my own expectations. I always think if there not me they don’t really know how it feels so they carnt really comment. It’s important to do what you need to do for a best recovery for yourself x

Oh no, bless you, it's so tough as a lot of people on here say, when people can't see the problem. They just don't understand!

I am terrible for feeling guilty because I have 3 children and at the moment, everything is falling on my husband but I need to put this first for a little while and get myself better.

I hope we all find some relief soon.

Thank you for your replies x

Hey,

I was exactly the same!

If they couldn't remove all the endo in the first op it usually means they couldn't reach it or it requires a specialist so that alone means it's more invasive. It can therefore take longer to recover, even if it's a smaller patch of endo it was possibly in a difficult to reach area therefore operating moved around lots of other stuff - the body doesn't like having things moved around so expect it to take a while - just rest up and listen to your body x

My first lap my specialist couldn't remove the endo on my bowel as he wanted a bowel specialist present which makes sense. I needed a lot longer for my second lap, a good few weeks more.

Hope that makes sense x

Thank you so much,

Yes that does make sense and has made me feel a lot better!

I was truly shocked at how much more pain I am in!!

The patch they couldn't get was on a major blood vessel so there is still no guarantee it has been reachable but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the specialist has been successful x

Hopefully you will be better with this one. Mine was ok last time, obviously sore but not bad at all compared to this time.

How long ago was your last operation? X

3 weeks ago....I didn’t really have any pain from the actual op though. I find out Thursday as they brought my app forward. Think most of my issues are due to this daft coil. A lady posted about it on here which has made me think its this.

Did u get one too? X

Oh gosh that's not long between ops at all, bless you!!

Hopefully this time they will sort you out. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. It's really not nice going through all of this!

I don't have a coil no, it was mentioned once but nothing since. They were talking about some kind of injection to shut my ovaries down if this lap doesn't work.

Will you let me know how you get on? X
