Stopped mini pill but still bleeding...what now?

HelloSo I'm on Prostap, Tibalone and I was on the mini pill. I've had 3 prostap injections so far and have been on tibalone since 1st injection.

I had a 12 day bleed episode then a 12 day break then started bleeding again, I stopped taking mini pill 5 days ago but I'm still bleeding, currently on day 18 of bleeding without a break. Can the prostap cause bleeding?

I've really had enough now, all these different chemicals it carnt be healthy to keep bleeding.

Has anyone had anything similar?

Hi I'm on prostrap no bleeding now for just over a week for the first four weeks I had bleeding I'm reluctant to take my tibolone as it says can have bleeding. I was on mini pill before the prostrap 11 weeks of bleeding so I'd had enough and I'm trying out prostrap. Hope you are OK soon, I know how frustrating it is. Sending you a big hug x

Thanks for your reply. I was told all would settle after 2nd injection and I'd have no bleeding, ive had 3 injections so far. I honesty don't know where it all comes from to bleed constantly. Ive left a message with my consultant secretary so hopefully I'll hear back soon as I don't have a follow up till Dec and my gp said because I'm under treatment plan with gynae I have to go through them.Maybe it is the tibalone causing the bleeding 🤔

It annoys me when the doctor's say that, it might be the tibolone hopefully you will hear something back very soon x

Hi.Just to update, I had a call back last week and consultant has said to stay on the tibalone as the side effects from the prostap would be difficult to deal with without the tibalone. I stopped bleeding after 22 days, I don't think they really believed me when I told them I've constantly bled. Their response was unless it's running down your legs it's perfectly normal. I honestly feel so rubbish, tired, and not able to function properly. I took it upon myself to do a home ferritin test as GP won't intervene while I'm under specialist and consultant doesn't seem bothered by my symptoms. My Ferritin has come back low, I don't know the actual figure but it's below the threshold. On the the test is 3 results, normal, abnormally low or void result. Mine is abnormal low. I tried to contact GP today after phoning from 8am and 7th in que, to be told no appointments left normal or emergency and phone back tomorrow. I have a medical history of anaemia, but been stable for a good year but now I just feel like crying, I feel so rubbish. My concern is if I have another bleed soon, I won't have the energy to deal with it. Hopefully I'll have enough time in-between to build up some iron. Sorry I'm rattling on just really frustrated with the whole NHS system at the moment 🙃

It might be Tibolone effect.

I have been on Prostap for 3 months last year with no bleeding. Side effects were bad but manageable.

Now I am again on Prostap with Tibolone prescribed but I don’t want to take Tibolone cos fear of bleeding 💛

I've got 3 more Prostap injections to go then I believe treatment will be stopped, so no more Tibolone. I'm tempted to stop the Tibolone now but consultant was quite adamant I should stay on it, its weighing up whats worse I guess. ...bleeding (poss from taking Tibolone) and suffering anaemia or stopping Tibolone and side effects of prostap. I'm just wondering how I'm going to function the remainder of my life before menopause if it carries on like this, it's crazy and exhausting 😩

Hopefully the wait won't be too long for you then your recovery and after that you can Hopefully live life and enjoy life Hopefully endo free or at the very least hugely reduced problems. I'm also 46 but not even peri-menopause, prob got years of issues yet, it's difficult to look at it positively.

Hi I've had no side effects and I'm yet to try the tibolone as fear of bleeding starting again. Low iron I'd say is GP s responsibility too. My doctors check mine regularly because of the heavy bleedingGo back to you're gp and ask for a second opinion in regards to gynecology I have seeing someone else next week 😊
