Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering what people's experiences have been whilst on the mini pill (progesterone only)? Good or bad :)

Thank you!

I've been on the mini pill for over a year now. It stopped my periods altogether but didn't stop the endo pain however I've started having bleeding every week now for about 3 days at a time but no pain at all.

I'm not quite sure if this helps you or not

Thank you for that :)

I've not long been on it and my periods have been all over the place - hoping things will settle soon!

No problem at all! It might take a while to settle down but they should do eventually!

I've been on the mini-pill for what must be nearly 8 years now! I have tried many different ones, and have sometimes had months off, other times having a year off!

I must admit, some of them have had some bad side effects. Cerazette for me was just horrible! I had anxiety, mood swings, bad periods and just generally felt rubbish!! Ive tried Micronor too which wasn't great for me! I was even told to 'double dose' with this one as my periods were so bad they thought having even more hormones would help...silly eh!

I cant remember the names of the other ones right now, but after being diagnosed with Endo in June last year, i had my lap, and was told i should think about having the Mirena coil (to which i abruptly said no!!).

I spoke to my GP about my current pill and how it was affecting me (badly)... so she put me onto Norgeston, and so far (roughly 5 months) i think its the best one I've taken!

I have good experiences and bad ones, but everyone is different, and everyones bodies will respond differently to the different hormones, so i would honestly give it a shot! You need to wait about 2-3 months to really know how it will affect you, but i think you'll know after the first month anyway!

Just let me know if i can help anymore!

Any of the bc's I have tried, I knew within the first 3 weeks if it was going to work or not. The dr.'s always say 3 months to give it a chance. Ugh, and it can be the longest 3 months ever.

Hi I started on the mini pill in December for scar endo. Periods still all over the place although in general are lighter. Scar Endo not so bad now thankfully. I wouldn't say I'm ecstatic with it as I'm still getting all sorts of endo symptoms but the one im taking it for is better!! I've had no bad side effects (I'm taking feanolla) so in that respect its not been a bad thibg
