Surgery Cost Endo

Hi im just seeing if anyone has had surgery with Mr David Rowland (Spire Wirral)

I previously had endo surgery 2 years ago in spain cost around €7000.00

& NHS have put me on a year waiting list for follow up appointment even though i waited 2 years for first appointment, but ive been on a feeding tube for past 2 months and my pain is still severely unmanaged.

So my only option is to go private again but i dont want to go to a consultation if the price is unrealistic, so im just seeing what others have paid, i know its different for each person and if its complex/bowel resection etc... but just hoping i get a few different replies so i can get an estimated figure.

or if anyone has any recommendations of other surgeons they have seen privately any help would be greatly appreciated

many thanks

You should be able to speak to the hospital's self-pay team and get their standard figure. From my understanding all private hospitals work off a code system for each procedure, so for example, removal of cysts and stage 1-2 endo will be one baseline cost under code something like AB123 and full excision of stage 3-4 will be under AB124. However that obviously doesn't take into account if you have to add on things like ureterolysis, hysteroscopy, bowel resection, all possible obviously depending how bad your endo is and this will be dependent on the initial consultation with your consultant.

I was able to get these costs before my previous surgery so I could compare wait times to cost, etc. I paid about £9K for stage 4 DIE removal, ureterolysis, hysteroscopy and Mirena coil insertion. Joke was I then had urgent endo surgery just shy of a year later and my endo was back at stage 4!

Hello!

Ive had a private lap at the Alex in Manchester last year and paid 7k plus the initial consultation but I don’t recommend my surgeon. I’m currently waiting for a total hysterectomy with a different surgeon that sees me at Stepping Hill on the NHS and also the Alex privately. I’ve been quoted 12k if I wanted to go privately, at the Christies as it is a robotic surgery.

Hope this helps! X
