I had my lap 4 weeks ago and one of my incisions seemed a bit off so I got it checked at the hospital who cleaned it and said it was fine once they checked it over.
Ever since they cleaned it though, the incision has been bleeding and the area near my wound is also going weird - I don’t know how best to describe it but it’s red and almost like a lump.
The incision hurt more after it was cleaned but the pain has been getting better slowly so I don’t think it’s infected.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Might pay you to get this checked at your GP surgery, can l ask did you drive before the 5 weeks after your op date. I was told not to drive for 6 weeks but l am 77 so they might have been being cautious.
I know I should get it checked out but I’m putting it off as I don’t really wanna know at this point if there’s something wrong…
I haven’t driven but I also am still in pain when sitting so it’s not feasible for me. I suppose depending on how your pain levels are, you might be able to drive. The only thing my consultant did say though was you have to be comfortable doing an emergency stop in the car as that will put extra pressure on the stomach
l am sorry you are still in such pain. My only wound which was slow to heal was my navel, but it was only about 2 months before that l had my partial hysterectomy.
Do not try to be brave and weather it through, and try to see someone at your GP surgery. Yes it is advisable to not drive for 6 weeks and when travelling as a passenger it’s advisable to wear a cushion between your stomach and your seat belt.
