Hysteroscopy and endo

Hi allI have not written on here with any updates. A few weeks ago I had an USS which found a 6cm endometrioma on my right ovary with a solid mass inside and a heterogeneous echotexture uterus. My CA125 was 141.

I had a fast track 2ww to gynae following findings who I saw a week ago. The gynae consultant was not convinced it was an endometrioma but a complex cyst of another sort, so I asked about endometriosis and she basically brushed it off and said we don't know if you have endometriosis. She done a suction biopsy in the appointment (not expecting that) and she sent me for a blood test ca19-9 and told me my case has been referred to an MDT as I will need surgery but they need to get full picture. She also said you will be booked into hysteroscopy for a closer look at womb and likely need a CT scan.

5 days later hospital phones advising I will be receiving an appointment for a CT scan...im still waiting for this.

I had my hysteroscopy today and the consultant doing it explained that I need a CT scan to look at other things around the cyst and to see if other problems the USS did not pick up. She also told me my CA19-9 was in the normal threshold so they are now more on the track of thinking it is endo because of the raised CA125 and suspected endometrioma.

My biopsy from last week however was abnormal but she said that could have been because I was bleeding at the time.

During hysteroscopy today it was unbearably painful, a lot worse than one I had 2 years ago. She took a tissue biopsy and removed a growth/polyp and I was in agony on the left side - opposite side to cyst. The consultant thinks maybe there was a endometriosis ashesion on that side that was being irritated by the procedure, would it really cause so much pain? Honestly I've had 2 kids no pain relief, I have a high pain threshold but was physically feeling so ill with the pain. They offered to stop the procedure and to rebook under GA but I've been under so many, pokes, prods and tests lately I just wanted it done.

I will need surgery, my file is being discussed next Tuesday when they have all the results. Does a hysteroscopy usually hurt so badly with endo?

Also I had an ablation 2 years ago and consultant has said this has failed. She asked me if I've ever been informed that I have an unusual shaped womb! Which I havnt ever been told, she said she could see some scar tissue has come away from my womb and I now have 2 cavities, how has this happened? Could that have been caused by the ablation?

hi, I also found the hysterescopy very painful. Not what I was expecting. It felt like stabbing very low down. I didn’t know I had endo at the time. But later found out I have an obliterated POD with severe adhesions and I have a 2 cm. Nodule low down in the POD as well. Which is where I felt the pain. I had an mri that showed all my scarring so hopefully the CT will pick anything up for you.
