Hi there, I was diagnosed with Endo at 47 (my pain was undiagnosed for years) and had an oophorectomy (1 ovary) a year later and been trying different hormone combinations since to get me through menopause. After a year on prostap injections with hrt Tibolone, which made me feel very depressed, I've just had mirena coil fitted with oestrogen patches. Has anyone else this combination and how is it going?

Be aware that this is effectively oestrogen only HRT which isn't recommended for those with a history of endo. For healthy women (without endo) they need the progestin element to protect the endometrium from cancer. As the mirena mostly delivers progestin to the endometrium that is fine for healthy women but those with endo need a systemic progestin to balance out the oestrogen that is in the circulation since endo is outside the uterus. The ESHRE guideline recommends continuous combined oestrogen-progesterone HRT. There are those who can't tolerate progestins but in those cases this should be a very careful decision with the doctor.
