Just wondering if anyone else has had Covid post-laparoscopy and had a horrible experience too? I got it 6 weeks post surgery and have had awful gastro symptoms with it. Have diarrhoea which has now lasted 9 days so far and I have been unable to absorb my pill so I now have my first period post-laparoscopy which is really awful. Don’t know where the stomach cramps from diarrhoea end and the endo cramps begin!
Has anyone had similar, have any advice, positive stories or anything? For covid diarrhoea or first period post-lap or just how to not spiral into health anxiety oblivion?
I spoke to a Dr last weekend and hopefully will be getting another call today or tomorrow, but all they basically said is Covid is horrid you have to wait it out 😔 I did have a high temperature and other more traditional covid symptoms but they have eased now thank god. Just the diarrhoea remains! Could surgery have made my covid experience worse?
Anyway, thank you so much xxx

When I had covid my main symptoms were gastro intestinal I think. I haven't had a lap but I was taking naproxen for cracked ribs at the time. I came of the naproxen. And all I could eat was citrus peel, hard dried out raisins and gluten free oat cakes. That stopped the stomach pain which I think was the naproxen and dried up the runs. But at some point it's definitely the endo/ period kicking in when your pill isn't getting absorbed. That's going to be your longest issue. Can you get a Depo shot to get you through 12 weeks without having to stay on it? There's supposed to be a safer one you put in your tummy from the same company Sienna X or something. That one didn't work for me but it's really between you and your Dr. Your covid symptoms should only last 10 days.
