Hi all, I wondered if any of you have/or know if it’s possible to have pain associated with endometriosis, whilst not (for the last 5m) having periods? I had excision surgery for uterosacral ligament and POD endo 6m ago, had one horrendous period 2 weeks later and nothing since. On no hormonal treatment. Unlikely perimenopausal due to age. But the pain over the last few months feels like it’s returning, alongside that post-viral/dragging fatigue that comes with it. No hope of gp appointment, and gynae review not until summer (although they ironically want me on medication to stop periods or to have a hysterectomy).
Just curious …

yes it definitely can come back without periods. I have stage 4 and since my most recent excision 4 years ago my periods have been almost non existent but daily pain absolutely awful. I’ve just had another mri done and the results came back as “significant findings and urgent escalation required with mdt”.
I don’t quite know what’s going on with my body as I still ovulate and had the mirena for 3 years so don’t know if that’s got something to do with it.
So sorry your struggling too, I hope you get some relief xx
thank you for relying. Not sure if I’m cycling or not (and just not bleeding) but had feared it was ‘just in my head’… but listening to you all, sounds like perhaps not
Definitely possible, I had pain with no periods when on the Zoladex.
It would also depend on if they didn’t take it all or left adhesions. If you are suddenly being more active it’s possibly muscular and abdominal muscles aren’t recovered. Although I’m still getting abdominal pain, physio has definitely helped pain in liver area after losing my gallbladder.
There are many possibilities and I’d definitely seek advice to make sure it’s not something else, could be a bit of infection or inflammation. You should get an ultrasound at the very least.
