Sickness in tummy after lap

I had my first lap 14th of feb. From I had it I have been feeling so sick in the tummy it’s coming up to 6 weeks. They found nothing during surgery. I have been feeling awful cramps all over my belly, diarrhoea and constipation. I thought I had a tummy bug although it’s been going on for quite some time now, and I never felt like this before I had the surgery. Anyone know what it might be?

Hi l would really recommend you make an app with your GP and discuss your worries. I had lap hysterectomy 8 days ago and your symptoms sound far worse than l am experiencing at my age of 76.

have you considered indigestion due to excess stomach acid? That causes me horrendous nausea but also really irritates the rest of my digestive system, causing cramping and bloating. Not eating very much makes things worse for me, which can then end up in a cycle of not eating a lot due to the pain and discomfort and then that actually making things worse.

You could see if antacids make things any better for you?

you are welcome! Especially if you’ve been using NSAIDS a lot to manage pain, your risk of stomach ulcer/irritation is raised - definitely worth following up with your GP, but also taking antacids should give some pretty immediate relief if it is that!
