Has anyone ever experienced a misfire? So I had my injection on 28th Dec and have been feeling so bad since, I have fainted 3 times in less than 2 weeks! Feel constantly dizzy and that I am going to faint again. The injection site is so painful that even putting clothes over the area hurts, I have some bulging where I was injected, which is very slowly going down.
I have called my Gynae team & GP but I can't get hold of anyone to speak to.
Has anyone had this or anything similar? I don't even know if they could do anything as the implant will dissolve in 28days anyway.
Any thoughts would be welcome

Can you get a callback/see a nurse? The nurses were the ones who administered mine and they were also the most knowledgeable. You might have an infection in the site.
I had something similar in March last year and posted on here and was a bit spooked cos no one else had had the same happen so was a bit lost for advice, so reaching out to hopefully reassure you!
For me, the nurse broke the needle / wasn’t sure if the zoladex went in and then gave me another dose and I think I was double dosed. 😵💫 I felt awful for a week after, with excruciating headache (I get migraines, but this headache made migraines feel like a walk in the park 🙈). I ended up in A&E as it got really bad and I had a really high fever. It thankfully settled after a week (probably as the implant started to dissolve / spread out.
Hi, I had something similar-ish happen and it was scary! I went back to see the nurse and they got the consultant back in. It turned out that they’d hit some blood vessels or something like that when doing the injection & I had a lot of bleeding under the skin. I had a massive bruise and a huge lump that took a while to go down. I took plenty painkillers and it did eventually all calm down but was quite scary at the time. I had the 3 month dose. I would try to see a nurse about it, just so you can be reassured. I know I was panicking at the time & am sorry you’re having to go through that. I hope it soon calms down for you. Best of luck!
I spoke to the Dr who basically told me she has no idea and to speak to the endo specialist. I am feeling better but I think it was a case of hitting a blood vessel like jayjo31 mentions as the bulge has gone down a lot and the other symptoms are weakening - hopefully this was a one off and won't happen again.
It can be quite scary as the GP surgery doesn't seem to know enough about it and you can hardly ever get hold of the specialist at the hospital.
I had numerous zoladex injections, I had 1 which was very sore for a while, but went down within 5 days. It sounds like you are having an extreme reaction to it. Definitely persevere trying to get hold of your gp/ consultant as if this is the reaction you’re getting then that sounds off to me. I had headaches and upset stomach as side effects but in comparison to the endo issues it was worth it for me,
I am having to wait to speak to the consultant on Monday, I didn't think it was a 'normal' reaction as I haven't had this before with Zoladex or when I had prostap previously. I agree these symptoms are better than the endo pain
Hi, Yes over the many years I had the Zoladex. I did have in 15yrs of the drug the odd werid implant. It would be they appeared to run out a few days earlier before the next was due. Twice in 15yrs I similar to you. I think mine were placed too deeply as the method is to pinch up the skin not to go deeply. Also it is possible to get a large black bruise which can be painful for several days. I always had my implants with AMETOP 1.5g gel 4% local anaesthetic which I kept at home, applied 30mins+ before in 60mm area which side I would have it each other side on mths. I would cover the site after placing the Gel with a piece of clingfilm before putting on underwear before you arrive. Another tip is to get the nurse to pinch up the skin at the site just before injecting. Under your command she pinches harder like a Chinese burn when placing Zoladex. I found my command made it easier.I feel for you. If you still aren't happy you should speak to a doctor.
