Has anyone else had any experience of Zoladex just not helping? I’ve just had my 4th injection and I’m still in constant pain and on regular strong pain killers just to live! Aside from not having periods, which is the only silver lining, I’ve just not got any better - and it was almost promised that after the 3rd injection it would be a miracle.
I’m so fed up, and I’m coming up to 5 months off work as a nurse, as most days I can’t even fully look after myself. I’ve had an MRI and waiting for my results, then hopefully a laparoscopy. Thanks!
I’m sorry to read you’re struggling, what pain medication are you currently? Painkillers work in different ways for different people, what might work for one, doesn’t work for another. It’s the way our bodies breaks down the medication. You have to try a few painkillers to find the one(s) that suit you. Have you spoken to a pharmacist? They are a great resource to use, they can put a recommendation into your GP for them to prescribe if they feel a medication would suit you.
Hi! Thanks for replying, I’m currently on cocodamol and naproxen, I’ve tried quite a few combinations and this seems to help the most (takes me to about a 5/10) and means I can manage a shower and a few jobs. I might speak to the pharmacist actually, that could help. Just getting so so fed up of it all now, I’m 27 and just not able to live my life 😩. X
Hello Hidden . Taking add back therapy tibolone, combined birth control or any form of estrogen with the injections can cause pain. However not taking addback therapy causes side effects of menopause. I had no pain when I took the injections alone. As soon as started taking addback therapy with the injections, the pain resumed.
Hi, thank you for your reply! I had my first month without taking Tibilone, and wasn’t any different. I’m now taking it as I had horrible Menopause side effects so maybe it’s just making it worse? You’re really stuck between a rock and a hard place, it’s infuriating.
That’s exactly it, between a rock and a hard place. Hope you find the optimum position between the two. Sending you love and light. I did 5 months without tibolone and 5 months with tibolone (10 monthly injections total) ❤️
I've been told I need to start having these injections as I have two large cysts combined size of 23cm which have formed kissing ovaries and stage 4 endo.
I was told the pressure was killing my kidney so they needed to stop it growing. He led me to believe surgery wouldn't be for a while and I'd be fine as I was on these injections. He never mentioned the pain would continue or anything!!
I'm on Decapeptyl injection with add back hrt patches. It has helped reduce my pain greatly while waiting for surgery for ovary removal as well as hysterectomy.
Hi, I too, suffer with pain. I had a major op in March for ovarian cancer and now doing well but without going into too much I had a chat to a friend who also has pain and is now under control. He recommends doluxetine. I haven't tried it but just thought it worth a mention. Good luck with everything. There is a silver lining, sometimes a long wait seeing it x
