Pregnancy & endometriosis

Hey everyone, I found out that I am pregnant a few days ago which I am over the moon at (I was told I would find it difficult as i had an ovarian cyst removal and ovary reconstruction as well as stage 3 endo).

However, I've been getting cramps, not as bad as I usually get but not far off the same level. I've read that it's common for mild cramps and I've read differing things about endometriosis pain either getting better worse or the same during pregnancy.

I tried going to the drs but they said that they don't have any appointments ,even emergency appointments. I have registered for a new GP but will take up 2 weeks before then. I've referred myself to maternity services for my area and informed them of the endo.

I have started taking vitamins and stopped my medication I was on.

Last time I spoke to my gynaecologist he said I was discharged (this was a month after surgery which was july 22) but the secretary said that no notes were recorded so I'm not sure if I have been or not.

Has anyone gone through anything similar or has any advice, feel like I'm way in over my head!

Thank you for all your help and to those struggling with fertility I hope things get better ❤️

X

Congratulations! My endo symptoms didn't start until after pregnancy but cramps are completely normal. Everything is already changing to make way for the baby, your body also releases a hormone called relaxin which makes your joints all loose and stretchy which can cause pain too. Unless the pain is accompanied by bleeding or is severe try not to worry (easier said than done). Also look up your early pregnancy unit as they will be the one to contact if you have any concerns x

First of all, congratulations! I was always told that getting pregnant would be the best thing for my endometriosis, and fortunately, this turned out to be true. I experienced no endo pain whilst I was pregnant, which felt completely miraculous! I had forgotten what it was like to have a life without pain, it’s amazing (and sad) what you and your body can tolerate and become used to. If you want/need support and advice, keep going until you get it, don’t be dismissed by health professionals. All the best with your pregnancy. x

Congratulations 🩷 I’m now going through the same thing, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant and I’m having such bad cramps, did your symptoms ever calm down? Or is your pregnancy journey still having ongoing cramps as it’s making me worry a lot :( I hope it got better for you xxxx
