Rectal fluttering

I’m at my wits end today…started on prostap, this is my second month on it. My “period” has arrived with massively increased pain (way more than usual) and the blood is more black tissue that’s being expelled which, I hate to say it, really smells horrid. Is this normal?! Also today I’ve noticed when lying down to get some relief from the heaviness, that my rectum is kind of fluttering/spasming. I can often suffer with the “hot poker up the arse” feeling but this is something else. Could it be my nerves are shot to pieces?? Any one else who has had the same? Any advice well appreciated because I’m honestly so pissed off and hurting today. ☹️

The rectal fluttering is most likely the result of the increased prostaglandins which can cause muscles to contract. It's probably just a side-effect of your uterus trying to expel more blood than normal. Would definitely bring it up with your consultant though as prostap is quite a nasty drug and can cause a whole host of side-effects. Hope you get some relief soon.
