I’m waiting to try and get back to see my consultant.
I had my davinci xi laparoscopic excision surgery on Friday last week so today is 6 days post surgery and my incision sites have gotten more infected even though I’m on antibiotics. My GP referred me to my consultant and it’s taken 3 days to get in. I’m so sore. Has anyone else had anything like this? And tips or pointers on what to do? I can’t even wear any clothes because it hurts to have the incisions covered and I keep getting hot and cold spells I feel rubbish.
Put pics on so you can see the infection to give advice.
Thanks in advance

so! Turns out it’s not super infected….. it’s just a severe allergic reaction to the glue. Normal advice would be let it heal and don’t peel the glue but I have been told to peel the glue off asap but gently in the shower. Let the water soften it. Least it isn’t infected! Looked awful and surgeon agreed but it looked worse than it was. He said I should feel better in around 10 days
Oh my goodness hun maybe go an and e as that looks so infected still hun if you leave that any longer you could get sepsis I’m not trying to scare you. Xxx
I’ve managed to peel most of the glue off now so a lot of the blisters have gone down and it looks super sore as it’s all exposed skin but it’s definitely getting better xxx
am ok ish have had my nhs notification for where I want my bowel surgery so I should get my letter for pre op soon as they said I will need injection to slow the endo in my bowel down before op and also I have asked for hysterectomy after the bowel surgery or at least put me on the list but he wanted to do the bowel surgery first as it s so bad. I did say if I need a stoma I’m ok with that as I said I deal with them at work and it would make my quality of life better for not running to the toilet all the time and then having opened the bowels feel so sick 🤢. My bowels smell awful though as it smells of blood. Even though have the coil and don’t get period as such now since my large endometoma was removed. It still smells. That was one reason I had to have colonoscopy as blood in the poop am hoping after the op maybe that will get better ?. Did your bowels ever smell of blood. ? Xx
