**sensitive** Pregnancy just before laparoscopy

I am supposed to be having a laparoscopy on Friday for removal of endo, cysts, bowel resection and probably both tubes. I was diagnosed in early 2021 and told I had bilateral hydrosalpinx. The doctors advised me to go down the IVF route and have surgery to remove my tubes. We did IVF in April this year and froze 2 blastocysts ready for after my surgery. I had accepted the fact it wasn’t going to happen naturally (we have been trying for 3 years) and had also prepared myself mentally for surgery and losing my tubes.

Yesterday (Wednesday) I thought I should do a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side because my period was a few days late but that is not unusual. I fully expected it to be negative. But it was positive. I did a second test later, also positive. My partner and I are in complete shock and don’t really know how to process this. I spoke to my consultant & my surgery has been cancelled, I now need to get an appointment at an early pregnancy unit to make sure the embryo is in the right place.

I just can’t believe that this has happened 2 days before surgery. Has anyone else had a similar experience? And was everything ok? I am very worried that the pregnancy is ectopic because of the problems with my tubes.

I just wanted to offer my congratulations - that's wonderful news! Give yourself some time for the news to sink in properly - it may take a while, especially as you would have been so focused on the forthcoming surgery.

Just take it one step at a time and hopefully you'll get an appointment with the early pregnancy unit soon to put your mind at rest. Many women with endometriosis go on to have healthy pregnancies, so please stay positive.

Congratulations , this gives me hope as I’m awaiting a second big surgery and told to do ivf before hand .

Hello, hope you're fineYes I know someone had the same case as you, the gynecologists told her to remove the endo-cys and the embryo, because it won't succeed and become dangerous when it grows. But she refused, and continued the pregnancy, after 9 months she gave birth with a beautiful girl, and the endo , the cys they all gone. They're well and healthy. I Wish you all the best.
