Hello :)I have been getting worse pains post op and wondered if anybody else has experienced the same?
I had my op 6 weeks ago, my issues were more concentrated to my right side, however during the op they found endo and adhesions all over my ovaries and my ovaries were fused to my abdomen and I had to have them suspended.
Since my op I have had this pain on my left side that I haven't had before like something is stuck, and everytime I open my bowels I get this sharp pain on my left side. This is new for me but my gp just keeps saying it's normal and I get the feeling they are tired of dealing with my pain tbh.
Gynae discharged me and my gp won't re refer me so I don't know what to do, is this normal post surgery?
Xxx

If you’ve got questions do go back to the consultant m. These days they don’t do follow ups for some reason. My hospital put on their site they leave it up to the patient to decide as not everyone wants one. They can’t discharge totally so soon. Maybe request a copy of notes as well so you can see what was done. That helps with questions. Did you have Endo on the bowel as well?
Saying that it is early days. You’ve had a lot done internally and you kind of have to tell yourself what you see on the outside isn’t what’s happened on the inside. There’ll be potentially stitches and definitely bruising and soreness from the adhesions being cut.
Your GP shouldn’t dismiss things too readily in case other things are going on. Don’t be afraid to go back to them at anytime and suggest if it’s op or something else. What pain relief are you on?
Hi :)Thank you yeah I think I will request a copy of my notes, problem with a follow up is a month before my surgery I moved over 70 miles away, then got a cancelation surgery where I'm originally from so I was hoping for a new referral where I live now, and yeah I had a 10cm area where the Endo was on my bowel but they bowel surgeon didn't want to touch is as it's at the junction between small and big bowel, and I'm currently taken naproxen with paracetamol - yeah you're right, thank you for your reply 💜
So frustrating when they say they didn’t do something, a different surgeon will have other views. A large area on bowel. You shouldn’t have any issues with a local referral to an Endo specialist. There’s no reason for GP to refuse.
You’ve got plenty of leeway for trying other meds. Diclofenac suppositories might work better than naproxen. There’s Oramorph, life saver at times, if you want to avoid opiates there’s Nefopam. GP’s don’t like prescribing this as it’s more expensive.
I’m a year post Op, and my pains done nothing but got worse. Try and get seen asap, I was due to be seen January. I’m still waiting. Even tho I’m ringing drs every week in agony, I’m getting no rest between flear ups no more it seems constant pains from stomach all the way down my hips to legs. Horrible 😞 sending love xx
Hi aw no I'm sorry to hear your pain is worse after op and a year on! It's terrible women's services I hope you get seen soon!!! I went to a+e once it was that bad don't know if it sped things up gynae wise but they may be able to assist if the pain gets to a+e level, yeah I think I'll try to get an appointment (key word being try) sending hugs back 🤗 xx
I'm so sorry to hear about your pain! When you say something is stuck, what do you mean? I do have random pressure and pains in my ovaries, sometimes so badly that I feel they are relying to escape my body. Any type of pressure in that region can result in some pain there.
Hi it's like when move sometimes, or push for a poop (and when I am on my period) it's feel like, you know the feeling when something is stuck in your throat, like that but down near my ovary and with a sharp pain, it's really strange to describe - it could be pressure yeah because it was really bad this first period after my op I felt like my ovary was going to roll out! X
your GP is an idiot! Go see another GP at the surgery. Call Surgeon’s Secretary and explain.
Sometimes the pain can be the healing. But you know if there’s something weird going on. That’s what you need, the Surgeon to put your mind at rest 🫶🏻💐 You have got this!!
Hi they really are!! I've seen a few at my gp surgery (I live quite rural now so there's only a few gps anyway :/) I think you're right I'll go recontact the surgeon, thank you love 💜
