Endometriosis?

I have had crippling ovulation pain since having a caesarian 11 years ago. My GP prescribed me laxido to edal.lwith the severe trapped wind pain and reluctantly referred me for a laparoscopy but when I attended the appointment it was way too painful and I couldn't go ahead with the procedure. I continued to live with the discomfort until I decided perhaps I should try the pill however the Dr told me I couldn't have it because I smoked and was considered overweight so as a last resort I tried the injection. Well, it didn't agree with me but iwas stuck with it for 3 months. Or so I thought. Another 6 months of irregular and intermenstrual bleeding I was referred to gynaecologist (male)who told me it was just due to the depo but I could have an ultrasound just in case. The sonographer found a small cyst which wouldn't be an issue and said I had more follicles than usual and could be polycystic so referred me back for bloods. Anyway, one night I had horrific pain ended up in a&e.. cyst popped. Normal periods followed - year after depo. Now ovulation is starting back up and it is agony. I feel like someone is repeatedly stabbing me through my right kidney into my pelvis. I get diarrhea and I feel like I could drop my insides down the toilet. I can't sit, I can't stand,I can't lie down. Painkillers are no good. I have to ride it out . Weirdly my periods are very straightforward and no trouble . Could this be endometriosis? I have lost faith in medical experts but I will push it if it could be the problem. Ovulation feels like it affects my bowel and female reproductive system.the pain can spread right up to my ribcage and shoot down my leg. Always the right hand side.. help much appreciated

hi, sorry to hear you are going through all this pain.

I get this pain around ovulation. I have endometriosis which causes endometrioma cysts on my ovaries. I can always tell when a cyst is back and big because i get this pain.

Ask your dr for an ultrasounds scan to see if you have any cysts back.

I have had surgery to remove mine previously.

Wishing you well

It doesn’t sound as if you have had very much support from the medical profession. I would think you need to have more investigation to work out what is causing such severe symptoms. It maybe could be related to your ovary or Fallopian tube.

You really might benefit from an ultrasound by someone specially trained in endo, or an MRI scan. What was the problem that prevented you going ahead with the laparoscopy, would it not have been under anaesthetic?

I think you should see if your GP can refer you back to gynaecology. Hope you can get some help, soon.
