I have been diagnosed with Endo and I am awaiting surgery through UCLH.
I have noticed that the week prior to my period and during, I suffer immensely with fatigue. Does anyone else have this? If so, is there anything that can be done to help this?
Thank you!

Sending a hug first because this is really hard to deal with, I find. With some pain you can take a pain killer and it relieves it or at least dulls kt but the fatigue I find is hard to “fix”. My best recommendation is to rest when you can. I’m a mum of three so I hear you when this feels impossible. Take it as a signal from your body to rest up before your period. Some things that help me : early night, camomile tea to help me drift off, cozy things (warm socks and slippers) and comforting food (though I try to keep my protein and healthy fat intake higher than my carbs to keep me from feeling all over the place eg, eggs and avocado on rye toast for breakfast over just toast and butter), be consistent with my multivitamins (normal multivitamin for me with spray on magnesium to help me sleep better), easy days with the kids (playing board games, jigsaws, some tv and lots of playing doctors - I’m always the patient in this week 😂). Also try to get out in the sunshine or at least daylight early ish in the morning to get your sleep rhythms on track and keep a routine, even if it’s just a few things. I know all of this might sound too normal and I’m sorry I don’t have a quick fix but do listen to what your body needs and try to apply it where you can. There are days when I can make three meals and sit on the sofa and that’s okay too. But the above does make a difference, not the same every month but I’ll take the improvement when I can x
thank you so much for your reply. It’s difficult to allow yourself to nap when you’ve done nothing all day🤣. But your right, if your body is tired it likely needs the sleep.
Thanks again for all the tips, I will be sure to try them! Take care x
Yes I suffer so much with this, I always describe it as m batteries running out! It's like powering down and so hard to deal with. I also suffer with getting flu-like symptoms sometimes, a sore throat etc during PMS.
My best advise is to get your iron and B12 levels checked, even if they come back as normal it might be that they are the lower side of normal. I take B12, Iron, magnesium and zinc which help a little bit with fatigue. I try to avoid sugar (although its really hard!) to avoid crashing all the time.
Otherwise just rest when you need to and as much as possible and try not to overdo it!
My fatigue is a bit more stabilised since being on the progesterone only pill as well, which also helps control the symptoms of endo.
Yes, that’s exactly how it feels! I’m glad Im not the only one! I’ve only recently been diagnosed, therefore I don’t know what is the ‘norm’ for someone with Endo.
I have been trying to take vitamins and supplements as much as possible! But I will also try to lay of the sugar now you mention it. Thanks so much for your comment. Take care xox
