1 week post laparoscopy and the pelvic Pain is so bad!

Hello everyone. I'm just wanting some advice from people that might have been throught the same thing as I am right now.

I had my first laparoscopy exactly 1 week ago and was diagnosed with endometriosis. The endometriosis was removed and I had the mirena coil fitted in hopes that it would help with the heavy bleeding and severe pain. For the past 3 days I've had the most awful period type pains .. some of the worst I have ever had. Today is just on another level but I am due to start my period so maybe it could be that? The consultant did mention that the first period after a laparoscopy can be really painful.

Is it normal to be in lots of pain a week after a laparoscopy and endo removal? I'm so worried that the mirena isn't right for me and that's what's causing the issues. Maybe I'm just over thinking it. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Have you moved your bowels? If not a mild laxitive may help! Surgery can slow the bowel down to the point of causing constipation, which causes pain!
