Hi

I had major laparoscopy 6 weeks ago and I now have an infection in the internal stitch on my belly button.

Feeling very sick and tired and tender but also experiencing intense period type pains on my right side- could this be linked to the infection?

Thanks

Have you checked with your surgery? I had an infection at that stitch , the nurse at the surgery took a swab and prescribed the correct antibiotics when the results came back next day.

Thank you, I am now on antibiotics. Did you get period pains with your infection?

Sorry, I had so many pains from surgery, I wouldn't have been able to tell if any were due to the infection. I was told to watch out for getting feverish or being sick and to get immediate help if I did, so do look after yourself. I'd tell them if your current pain gets any worse at all too. x
