Following on from my last post, it seems there is a 2 to 4 month waiting list for my urgent referalI asked my Dr to do blood tests including CA125 which has come back lower than last time, all other bloods are fine.
I don't understand why I've been referred. I understand cyst and fibroids have got bigger but that's probably because I haven't been on any hormone treatment for 18 months.
I know they're going to say I should have surgery but I really don't want it. I wondered if anyone else has refused surgery and was that ok?
I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm complaining. I'm just so worried and upset about it and can't think about anything else. I can't get a Dr's appointment for 3 weeks.
I know there are people suffering much more than me and I don't want to waste anyones time.
Thanks for reading, any advice would be really good. This site has been so helpful. X

Surgery is for relief of pain and/or infertility. The only caveat would be if a scan shows something dangerous - so if your organs or another structure was at risk. Assuming the cyst is an endometrioma it could rupture, especially without hormone meds, which would be an emergency situation. So this might be why they suggest surgery. Ultimately it is up to you but you do need them to explain fully the risks.
Thanks for your reply. The cysts have been there for 5 years. I was discharged and put on the pill. I would have thought if they thought there was a risk I wouldn't have been discharged. I'm not really in any pain but happy to try the pill again, just can't get Dr's appointment. I'm hoping if they thought it was that bad I wouldn't be on a 2 - 4 month waiting list.
No one can make you have surgery if you don't want it. So of course you can choose to say no, I'm pretty sure they won't suggest it unless you need it. If you aren't in pain and you don't feel you need it then you can just say no but having a chat with the doctor about it and finding out what is going on will probably be a help anyway.
