I had a complete hysterectomy 10 weeks ago due to severe endometriosis, ovarian cysts, adenomyosis and other things. I had been feeling so much better, no pain, mental health in a good place and when I saw my consultant last week he was pleased with my recovery and signed me off (gynaecology wise only) as I have endometriosis on my bowel. I asked him what will happen about this, and he said to keep monitoring my symptoms, and if they flare up again, I’ll have to be referred to a colorectal surgeon. Since the weekend I have had really bad abdominal pain, swelling, horrid bowel movements. It hurts to bend and I feel sick all the time 😢 I’m gutted. I don’t know what to do, who to turn to now. Has anyone else gone through this after a hysterectomy?

hi, sorry you are so distressed, if you have, like me, an absolutely amazing GP then l would advise you ask him/her to write a follow up referral to the surgeon in charge of your case. You should be able to do this by way of a telephone consultation, l suggest you write down everything that is happening before you phone then read it through a couple of times before you ring, it is so easy to skip a few things if you dedicate it to memory.I sincerely hope your GP is as amazing as mine and you soon have answers and a solution to your troubles..
