Good morning all, so I had my first appointment with gynaecologist the start of May after waiting over 9 months after my referral and 3 cancelled appointments by the hospital, the doctor was great he asked me if I had heard of endo and sent me for scans, but was certain I would need laparoscopy. He said he would book my scans in and my next appointment would be in 8 weeks as plenty of time to get my results back… to my surprise my appointment had been booked in for 1st September. I spoke with the secretary who wasn’t really helpful at all, her response was well clearly nothing has flagged up on your scans or he would see you sooner. Can’t really be anything to worry about…., I’ve now booked a private appointment and I am going tomorrow to see the same gynaecologist. I started seeing the doctor with problems when I was 12 years old, and had 18 appointments with the same problem between the age of 12 and 16, they put me on the pill and which seemed to disguise symptoms up until I was 23. I’m 30 next month and still suffering. I will keep you posted, I was just wondering if anyone else had been treated this way?

Yeah I can relate to you. I also started seeing the doctor at 12 repeatedly. I felt like they were brushing it off with sexual health checks constantly because I’d have to wait so long for appointments. I wasn’t taken seriously until I had more tests done when I had mentioned the deep painful intercourse I was having to a private consultant. Only then did I feel heard. They referred me when I had a transvaginal scan and realised my ovaries were sticky. Up until then, I was told I had no problems or that they just weren’t sure what was up with me x

I still get pains but atleast I don’t bleed all the time like on the implant 🤷‍♀️ Still trying to find the best compromise and mirena is my solution at the moment following my laparoscopy x

Yeah it’s not great but the pains aren’t as bad as before birth control so it could be worse. And I had a nasty recovery if I’m honest and wouldn’t want to scare you with that but after two weeks I was fine :) I’m not sure I can feel the difference though 😬 I suppose intercourse isn’t as painful but still is slightly. It was worth a try though x
