Hi everyone ☺ just wanted to ask a few questions and ano everyone has or had different experiences but I need to know from some ladies that's taken NORETHISTERONE...... I've just come off theses pills Monday gone and my withdrawal bleed started on weds afternoon but this is weird as for the first 3 days it wasn't heavy more or less moderate flow no clots or out but since yesterday I've been getting bloody discharge 🤷‍♀️🤨 nothing heavy or moderate flow just whitish bloody discharge and the same for today now do withdrawal bleeds tend to be light and short cause last year it lasted around 9/10 days and was heavy! This time round it's been lighter .. is this normal?? 🤔 also to add next Tuesday I'm having my operation ( endometrial ablation ) for the first ever time and first time with general anistetic I'm super scared tbh about it and would love too know anyone else's experiences please thanks

Hello I just came off northisterone and started 4 days later. My period was still painful but the flow was lighter than usual. It lasted for 3 days as blood and then i had very less brown discharge until like day 11

I have had 2 endometrial ablation to sort out my heavy bleeding / flooding and it never worked for me unfortunately. There are success stories out there though 💜you will be given pain medication for wakening up in the hospital and also some for home, I was sore afterwards and that lasted for around a week. Hope all goes well x

Having had quite a few general anaesthetics I can tell you it is not as bad as you think. They may give you a sedative before you go to theatre so you will be awake but feeling calm. Once you are in theatre the general anaesthetic takes effect almost immediately and the next thing you know you will wake up in the recovery room with a nurse beside you, and it will be over. I have not had this particular op so can’t tell you what it is like. They will probably give you plenty pain relief but don’t be afraid to ask if you need more.

In my experience the anaesthetic has an effect for a few days in that you are really tired, of course the painkillers will probably affect you like that too, Take it easy and rest as much as you can.

Hope it all goes well for you x

Hi, I haven’t had that operation but I have used norethisterone a number of times- yeah my bleeding is normally better with a withdrawal from this but it’s because it keeps the uterine lining thinner meaning it doesn’t fill up as much so the withdrawal bleed should be lighter. Mine was light then became heavy but I have a big horrible fibroid which causes heavy bleeding so I need to stay in norethisterone xxx
