Hi ladies I'm hoping someone can help me I'm due to have an ablation done on Monday morning but have read so much bad feedback I'm not sure if I want to go ahead now.
I have needed it done for many years now and actually been looking forward to it but I wanted to wait until I was 40 so I knew I definetly didn't want anymore children.
I'm reading ladies are in so much pain after they regret ever getting it done.
Reason for ablation is too much blood loss resulting in andmia over the years etc.
Can someone please share their stories with me as I'm scared to go ahead and then regret is massively.
Thank you in advance.
Jo.

I can't speak from experience as I haven't done it myself. My sister however said that when she had it done it was painful for a while but it was worth it. She has not had another period since and that was 2.5 years ago. Make sure you have strong painkillers.
I had the ablation 6 months ago, had 1 period, well not really a period just a half day bleed.. this was after a years nightmare with Mirena.. anyway after that half day, I've never had another period.. best decision I ever made, truely feel like I'm getting my life back after years of suffering.
I have been offered this but not really heard much about it, im only 27 but i do already have 3 children, they seem to have offered this even though they haven't even been in yet and found out what is going on just what they are planning when they go in got my pre op 28th jan
Hi I had a ablation years ago . I had very heavy periods . It worked period reduced to a teaspoon a month ! Only thing I will say is 40 is young still and are you 100 per cent sure you don't want children ? I changed my mind but ablation leaves you infertile ! Good luck if you go ahead . It was painless for me and the results in terms of periods was fab .
Hi, my children are almost 18 and 16, I would have loved to have had more children but unfortunately my youngest was born very prematurely and they think it was endo related due to non stop bleeding.
Hope everything goes well today and your recovery is as short as possible. Please let us know how you got on. I have been pushing for an ablation but the specialist thinks I'm too young and it wont work. (I'm 37).
Hi dabba I just wanted to update you, I had my op yesterday and when I come round the pain was unbearable it was like I was in labour. After being put on strong medication and a very long sleep I now feel absolutely fine, hopefully it will stay this way ( touch wood)
