I haven’t been under for anything endo related, but I had a GA when my appendix was taken out. I’m sure others will reassure you of their ablation but honestly you’ll be fine. It’s normal to feel a bit groggy afterwards, and probably a little sore from the incision, but it’ll be so worthwhile in the long run. You’ll be back awake before you even know it ☺️ x

HiI have had 2 ablations.

I was under general anaesthetic and never felt anything until I woke up.

I had it for very heavy bleeding but unfortunately it never worked for me.

However don’t let me put you off, lots of women have successful endometrial ablations 💗

Good luck x

I've had two big ops for excision of endo but not this, but the going under the GA the idea is scary. i remember really cryingbefore the first one just out of fear but it is just like you have gone to sleep. They ask you to count to ten then when you get to about 3 that's it you black out. You don't feel anything at all during th top but the horrible bit is when you wake up. Some people don't get sick but I vomit for about half a day ( but I think this is unusual and extreme). BUt you might feel horrible and throw up and feel rough for about half a day.

If you have ever been out and drunk to much then woken up with a stinking hangover it's probably similar but much much safer because you have nurses and doctors monitoring you,

And the throwing up happens after you wake up not before. I hope this reduces the scariness a bit. also remember literally millions of people have tis done every day and are fine. You do feel awful when you come round (I did but some people don't and can eat straight away etc)but its just for half a day and you will probably go home and sleep and in a few days be fine. Good luck xxx

Never had an ablation but I’ve had over 6 General Anaesthetics before, my first I was really scared about but now as strange as it sounds I like the feeling of being put to sleep and actually enjoy it. They are so good at relaxing you and you literally just feel really sleepy and that’s it . I’ve always woken up feeling absolutely fine and relaxed and it’s literally just like coming round from a strange deep sleep for me. You may feel a bit confused at first, I’ve never felt or been sick after an operation, obviously everyone is different and reacts differently but I’d say don’t worry about what it may be like as you may be making yourself stressed for no reason .
