I was diagnosed in April 2021 with Stage 3 endometriosis via a private laparoscopy. I also have a Mirena coil fitted (from the same time).
I’ve recently moved to the West Midlands and have been fighting to be referred to gynae since August 2021 when I moved here.
Finally managed to get a referral but first appointment they have is August 2023.
Is there any way I can get an appointment quicker or am I faced with going back into the private system for check ups?
This waiting time is just staggering to me. I had hoped to have an appointment sooner as I want to start trying for children in the near future but it seems like this waiting time is now the norm at the NHS.
Thanks for any advice in advance!

Hello , I don't have a gyni problem mine was sorted many years ago, but with NHS waiting time I totally understand. I received an apt with an oral consultant yesterday and that was applied for in 2020. I have been waiting for a referral to the consultant for my spine since the May before the pandemic and the doctor has sent two urgent emails since then and I still haven't had a response of any kind. Hope you are luckier than me, but here in Wales it is not going well. Good luck and best wishes.
