Hi all.

Hoping for some advice. I was recently referred back to gynae after some time regarding my pain. After trialling the pill for several months with no luck I have been reffered to have the menopause injection.

I'm due to have it on Wednesday but no idea what the appointment will be like. Where do the inject? How long is the appointment? Etc I know side effects can miimic the menopause so mentally preparing myself for that.

Sorry for the post just feeling very nervous as I don't know what the plan will be if that doesn't work.

Thanks all ❤️❤️ xx

Morning AMJ88, I'm on decapeptyl injections monthly, which goes into ur bum ☺😬, the appointment lasts about 10mins but this could be abit longer if u have any questions, I have to order the injection myself from the pharmacy, the nurse gets me to stand at the bed and lean on it then I relax the leg on the side the injection will go in, it's not the most comfortable thing but its definitely better then the pains from endo 😉 I hope this has helped a bit, if u would like to know anything else please just ask, good luck and u will be fine 🙂 xx

Thank you for the reply ❤️ I'm not sure what the injection is I'm sure the dr. Said something prostop injections. I find that due to it all being scheduled over the phone I've been unable to ask any questions and it's been a rushed process. Xx

Hiya, zoladex is an implant that lasts 28 days and is injected near your belly button. It takes seconds to inject and doesn't hurt, my consultant just told me that I could swear out loud if I wanted too. It's no worst than having a jab. Side effects are not great, so monitor blood pressure, headaches.

Your be fine and it helps with the endometriosis pain.

Hiya, I was but I have had to come off implant treatment plan atm, due to the side effects. I have to now take prevention meds to reduce risk of migraines as I suffer from Hemiplegic migraines which give you stroke like symptoms. So hopefully going back on implant mid March , after my migraine consultant gives me approval. Please believe me it helps with the pain and you should see a reduction of pain by the second implant. I do understand your worried but take each day as it comes .

That's good news, little steps take you a long way. Well done you and yes our pain levels are exhausting and affects our mental health as well . I hopefully find out on the 16th, if I can go back on implant treatment and after the night of pain I had last night the 16th can't come soon enough. Keep positive you have this xx

It's scary when it seems like thee last option. I had the zoladex injection after I'm 2 weeks in now and so far so good. Can already feel a difference in pain levels. Some odd side effects but still so much better than the pain everyday. I really hope this works for you. ❤️ Xxx
