hello ! i’m just about to get my second injection of zoladex and start hrt in a couple days, and i’m experiencing some night sweats / hot flushes, as well as insomnia. it’s caused me to feel really down as i need sleep to feel well !

when i first started, i had a pain flare up for the first 3 weeks then a period, and now the pain seems to be settling a bit more now the period has passed.

i don’t know if this is too helpful - but you’re not alone in this at all ! i hope the pain eases for you !

Thankyou im halfway through jab 4.The insomnia is the worse. Been up since midnight only had 2 hours sleep last night from 10pm till 12. Makes me feel low.

Think being so stressed is causing the slight flare.

It took mine till jab 3 for periods to stop and feel mostly pain free so think just having a bad menopausal month

oh gosh that’s terrible ! i really hope you can get some rest soon, i feel like the lack of sleep can also cause flare ups, which is awful. the insomnia truly is the worst !

maybe your doctor could prescribe a different form of hrt for you if tibolone isn’t helping ? i saw somewhere on this forum a while back that some women need a stronger / different form to combat the symptoms more.

it’s worse at the moment with the current heatwave too - i hope you’re managing okay tonight !

Hi, I have just finished 4 monthly injections of Decapeptyl and HRT. My last injection was end of May and HRT finished end of June.

I had flare ups as soon as I received the injection and noticed this settled when I took period 2weeks later. I had period after 1st , 2nd and 4th Injection. During 3rd month with no period I was really bad with joint pain and emotional distress.

I experienced all the chemically induced menopause symptoms throughout the 4 months - emotional distress , joint pain , night sweats, hot flushes, insomnia, anxiety, headaches etc.

I am still getting the menopause symptoms and patiently waiting on the injection chemicals to leave the body. This has been tough without hrt - seeing my consultant soon so hopefully will know more then. I really found this experience horrific and noticed that my mental health was and still is in the gutters most days! I tried to exercise throughout but some days the get up and go wasn’t there.

Not sure if this helpful , really hope you get some relief soon!

It’s a very long time especially when suffering. I would suggest speaking with doctor about changing to a different hrt - I was on Tibolone and it done nothing for me. Only reason I stayed on it was because I had private surgery at the end of last year and the consultant wanted me to try the injections for 4 months to give my body a break. Hoping they will have helped my body. Hope you managed to get some sleep and are feeling better soon xx
