Does the Mirena increase PMDD symptoms?

Hi, I am a 45 year old woman who was diagnosed with PMDD in 2020. That same Psychiatrist recommended the Mirena to help manage the PMDD and the heavy periods. It did lighten the cycle with quite a few side effects including headaches, spotting every day for 1 year. My gyno has revealed to me that the Mirena can increase Progesterone. And that Progesterone is known to aggravate the PMDD condition. Then I have read that the Mirena increases Estrogen. So I am feeling conflicted by the whole scenario. I am currently on Zoladex injections. It works from every viewpoint - no period, no physical discomfort, no mental rollercoasters. The injection is a short term trial while I decide if I will go ahead with a hysterectomy and the disturbing thought of an early onset of menopause if the ovaries are taken. I don't feel like I can trust the Psychiatrist since they suggested the Mirena in the first place without understanding that it increases PMDD symptoms. Does anyone have more insight on this topic? Then there is the surgery decision which I would also appreciate any comments on. Thanks :-)

Hi I am 42. I had my ovaries removed in November and extensive endo removed . I had a huge cyst on my left. After my surgery I have had a coil which I do have issues with.

I was never diagnosed with pmdd but my mood , motivation and quality of life is so much better, it’s the best decision I have made ,
