Does anyone suffer with night sweats? I have been suffering with intermittent drenching nigh sweats for around 2 years. I have just been diagnosed with endo, and have been symptomatic for about 2 years too. I'm 37, I don't take any hormone medications and I haven't had a hysterectomy.
Just wondering if anyone else has this as a symptom. I've been told by my consultant that it's not a symptom, but then it's listed on my endo app, so wondering if there's anecdotal evidence for this. Also any advice on how to treat it or reduce it would be appreciated.

Hello, I used to wake up absolutely drenched and I always attributed it to my endo, though it doesn’t happen. I should say that this always coincided with having my period and unfortunately I never got a handle on it. It only stopped once I had my large ovarian cyst removed (along with ovary and tube).I am not saying you have a cyst or anything (I am not a Dr) but would just advise you to listen to your body (just incase). I went to the gp months before my surgery because I felt that something was wrong on my right side, like there was a lump or growth there. My gp ‘Dr Google’ I call him, examined me and dismissed my concerns of course. Three months later I end up in a&e with excruciating pain and a massive cyst that has to come out. Ovarian torsion caused the pain. Just be aware of this and don’t let your gp send you home without a referral for scans etc if you start feeling something is off. Sorry I can’t be more helpful x
This sounds like it’s hormone related either your cyclical variations and although, you’re only 37 it wouldn’t be uncommon for these symptoms to be linked to the perimenopause. It might be worth looking on this website to see if you have any other symptoms newsonhealth.co.uk you can also ask your GP to undertake blood tests checking hormone levels.
Thanks for your reply and for the link, that's really useful.
I asked for my GP to check my hormones including FSH, as I was suspecting perimenopause. There was only a blood test performed once, and I wasn't even asked where I was in my cycle (not sure if that matters but seems like it should!). Apparently they're normal though.
Thanks, it's so helpful just knowing others have had the same problems. When I list all of the symptoms I had over the last two years doctors look at me like it's my mind that's the problem!
I've had ultrasounds and a diagnostic laparoscopy they found endo and possible adeno. No cysts, thank you for mentioning it though, and my GP said my hormones came back normal, but I hear that that's not really accurate as it has to be tested through the month? My FSH specifically was also checked for indications of menopause.
I'm glad you've had your cyst sorted and no longer have to deal with your night sweats x
I suffer terrible night sweats too, I’m 26 and it’s horrendous thinking I could have this until menopause!! I was listening to a podcast that said hot flashes are caused by low oestrogen levels which is why gp’s don’t associate flashes with endometriosis, because our levels of oestrogen are usually higher than average.. but to me if we’ve got an in balance of hormones it probably is a symptom caused by endo.. that’s just my opinion from things I’ve read/listened too but I think it’s a common symptom of endo no matter what gps say.. and a very frustrating one!!
But definitely go to your doctor if it’s causing you distress/disturbed sleep there might be things to help.
Thanks for replying. Yes, I thought the same, that it's always estrogen dominance you hear of with endo. It's reassuring to know many other women on here with endo also have this symptom.
My doctor didn't seem to be concerned, as I wasn't losing weight, so don't have cancer, so you know, get on with it 😫 I pushed for bloods to be done, which came back normal.
As endo warriors we have to listen to our bodies. We see the patterns. We know what we are experiencing and what doesnt seem right. My doctor did not seem concerned either so I found one that is.
Hi.I have really bad night 😓. A year ago I had trouble sleeping, suffered with low mood etc bc I was having night sweats . I though I was going through the premenopause so I was told my gp that I was too young for the menopause, I am not being funny menopause can come on early for some women. So the GP tried to brush it off I insteaded to have a blood test hormones levels came back normal. In September last year I ended up with severe lower abdominal pains and plevis pain the pain was so unbearable that I curled in to a ball. After all tests and surgery it ended up that the cyst I had on my ovary was endometrioma. After I had surgery I still have night sweats but they are more manageable then before. Night sweats are linked to endo and inblanced hormones.
I take sage vitamin and go with the flow hormone vitamins that you get online, I find they help me with night sweats which I sweat a little less when I get more sleep. Also if you lack in Vitamin D B6 and B12 courses inblanced hormones and will give you night sweats 😓. It's helped me where my night sweats are mor manageable where I am not soaking as much having soaking pj's.
Hope have helped and I am still learning as I new to all this.
Hi, Thank you! I will try that combination of supplements, my Dad suffers with a B vitamin absorption problem, so it's interesting to see that on your list, maybe I should get that checked! Hadn't even thought about a deficiency because of all my other gynae symptoms.
I'm pleased you eventually got your cyst dealt with and have at least managed to reduce the intensity of your sweats. Improvement after a cyst removal was mentioned by another member here. Good luck with everything x
I do have night sweats and endo too but I’m also premenopausal so I thought this was the reason. Been experiencing a lot of lower abdominal and pelvis pain recently too, which makes me think that I may have more endometriomas so I know that I need to follow up with the doctor.
Thanks for replying. Seems many here suffer with both endo and night sweats, so I guess could be explained by both for you, like you say. Sorry to hear your pain is flaring up again, hope you're able to get to it sorted quickly x
I get really bad night sweats and I never thought it could be part of endo! Seeing people are having the same thing, it’s nice to know you’re not alone!
