Night Sweats - no medication or hormones

Hi all,

Hope you’re well.

I have endo, confirmed and excised via 3 laps, but the last one was 2 years ago and due to worsening symptoms I think it might be back again but I’ve been experiencing night sweats over the last 12 months during my period which I’ve never had before...

For the 8/9 days of my period I wake up dripping in sweat and have to change and lay a towel on my mattress - does anyone else experience this? More worryingly I’m not actually on my period at the moment and for the last 4 nights I’ve been experiencing the same sweats - I’m 30 years old so nowhere near reaching menopause but I’m wondering since I’ve been having extreme symptoms again for the last year is this related to endo?

If anyone has experienced this I’d really appreciate any insight you can offer!

Hi. I get hot at night and have been since they put me in zolodex a few years ago. I’m now peri menopausal at 45. Wearing pure cotton pyjamas, taking sage and red clover and using a progesterone only identical hormone cream helps

Thank you. I don’t take any medication or hormones (bar codeine etc) so I’m wondering whether endo alone could cause this? Seeing my consultant soon so will ask him!

Hi there I have stage 3 Endometriosis in my pelvis bladder bowel and rectum that was removed recently but unsuccessful and was put into medical menopause with prostap and HRT. Prior to this I've always had horrific night sweats where the bed is drenched and it wakes you up and thus worsened with menopause but hrt helped prevent it. I'm now out of the menopause and still have the sweats so it could be down to Endometriosis. I have norithisterone and just had the mirena fitted so hoping it'll help with the pain but I'd see your gp or gynae about the sweats as there should be medication you can try x

Thank you, I also have bladder and bowel involvement. I’m due to see my consultant in two weeks so I’m going to raise it with him then.. it’s so frustrating trying to sleep and it’s making Me more exhausted Than I already am!

It’s been two years since my last lap and I can feel that the endo is back so this might just be a new symptom 🙁 hopefully after another excision it goes away again

Hi. I have been using for the past 2 weeks a paste that I make before going to bed, the taste is difficult but it seems to stop/reduce the night sweats, of which I have had for 10 years. The paste that I make is: 1/2 teaspoon each of turmeric, cinnamon and ginger with a bit of pepper and mix with olive/almond oil. Once made it into a paste, I swallow it . I presume you could mix the paste with something else, which I haven't done as I was worried of unbalancing the mix. The turmeric reduces inflammation, the cinnamon balances blood sugar levels and the ginger is for energy. It has stopped the night sweats the majority of the nights and if I sweat, it's much less than before. Good luck!
