Back in April last year (2021) had a 7cm endo cyst removed from my left ovary (ovary removed too) along with both Fallopian tubes and right ovary detached from uterus wall as it was stuck there due to endo. They didn’t want to remove right ovary as I’m 48 and they didn’t want to bring about early menopause.
However I’ve still not felt right since the operation, achy tummy with stabbing pains and very tired still and things have got progressively worse. I went to docs at the end of Nov and my iron level is very low so I’m on iron tablets for 2 months. I’m now getting severe stabbing pains on my left hand side (where my remaining ovary is).
My gynaecologist who I saw in June said he’s see me again in Dec as I was still uncomfortable but I’ve had no appointment through so I called the hospital today to chase it.
Any advice from anyone - and has anyone experienced similar? Do you think I have another endo cyst on my remaining ovary and if so can they grow that quickly after an operation last April where they detached the right ovary from the uterus?
Thanks ladies in advance and I wish you all good luck with your endo journey.

Ohh I feel for you. I had a cyst on my left ovary removed in 2019 along with the ovary and tube as the cyst had wrapped around. My surgeon told me I had endo. And that was it. A few months later I was having pains again in the right hand side. Earlier this year I could feel a swelling on the right hand side and have sever pains in my hip and back. I've been put on the pill to deal with the endo symptoms but it sounds like your endo could be back.
Push your GP to send you for a scan. Explains your symptoms and concerns and hopefully they help you.
Thank you. So sorry to hear you’re going though the mill too. Had a call from my gynaecologist secretary today and she’s made me an app for scan and to see gynaecologist this coming Monday, so that’s positive and quick given COVID situation in hospitals. I feel like we ladies have to take charge ourselves though as I’m not convinced they would have followed up in December like they said had I not chased them. It almost like they cut bits out of you and then let you get on and manage it. I don’t want to put life on hold and live on pain killers and feel tired most of the time and be in a low mood. Neither do I want to wait for menopause when apparently can get better. Sorry for rant! How are you feeling currently and have you chased for another app/scan. X
