Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with endometriosis in May this year after my first laparoscopy. I had an appointment with the consultant who said they found it and got it out but I'm still experiencing painful periods so he's going to see what happened in my last operation and see if there's adhesions on my ovary. I'm a bit nervous for this next laparoscopy because I'm getting a coil fitted at the same time. I don't quite know what to expect and I'm worried because people have said getting a coil is painful and I'm worried I'll have surgery pain and unwell feeling combined with the coil pain. Has anyone had any experiences with this?

Second laparoscopy and getting a coil fitted
Everyone's experiences seem to be different, but the mirena coil changed my life. I also had it fitted during a laparoscopy and did experience some pain due to the coil for a few months afterwards. However, it was manageable with painkillers and when I think about the pain and fatigue I was struggling with before it, it was definitely worth perservering with.
Hey, I had a lap 5 weeks ago and also had a coil fitted! I’ve had spotting pretty much ever since and also some very severe pain which varies from period pain to horrendous almost contractions type pain. I’m going for an ultrasound today to check that the coil is where it should be, but it could also just be that it is taking a while to settle in! Hormone wise, it’s probably the best contraception I’ve had. When I’ve took the pill before I’ve suffered badly with my moods, acne and water retention. I’ve not had any of those so far 🤞🏻
It seems to vary from person to person if you experience the ‘settling in’ pains and as the person below said, it’s not as bad as the endo pains you’re probably used to!
