Cauterisation?

I had my third laparoscopy yesterday to treat endometriosis. This surgery was performed privately with a general Gynaecologist rather than a BSGE specialist (like last time).

My notes say:

Scarring in POD

Endometriosis deposit in POD towards left USL

Left ovary 3 endometriosis deposits on the surface

Right ovary less mobile

Cauterisation of left ovary

I wondered if anyone could explain what the cauterisation part means and if POD endo is classed as deep?
