I was offered a cancellation appointment for this Wednesday to see the endometriosis specialist; I will be given full details Monday morning before work ๐
Iโm not sure what to expect ; Iโve had two laps within around 8 months ; endo removed from POD and some left on rectum ๐คขwhich fertility specialist says needs an endometriosis specialist that works alongside a bowel surgeon.
Anyone who has been to an endo centre and has advice to offer would be much appreciated. xoxo
Hopefully once you've had this endo sorted out looks like it's going to be sooner rather than later, you can get back on the road to having a ๐ ๐๐
I've just had my appointment with my specialist regarding having my endo removed from my colon - had a previous lap to remove all other endo 4 months ago. Mine was really helpful, he didn't recommend surgery immediately as my symptoms have improved; however he did say he would be 1/3 in favour of doing the surgery to get rid of all endo considering I still have some symptoms, 2/3 against (1/3 being it's more invasive - another surgeon required, and 1/3 because my symptoms have improved). So if I opted for it he would understand. I guess you could ask that sort of thing.
My hubby and I went home and talked, we decided as we're not planning but not preventing; just enjoying a healthy sex life, and whatever happens happens, we'll get as much endo removed as possible so we know were we are. I've emailed my specialist mentioning that with a possibility of having an op in June / July, as it takes time to book both surgeons. I am waiting for his reply.
I know all the above may not be relevant however I'm hoping it helps you think about your appointment xx
Weโve been ttc 6 years 8 months; it took nearly 6 years to find the cause; yep endo was found and treated in June last year and we conceived ( first time ever) but I miscarried and endo returned; Iโve been told by my fertility specialist Iโm prone to it recurring ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ like you most was removed but some left on bowel area.
Your op sounds similar to what mine might be; with bowel endometriosis you need a bowel surgeon present .
hi. That's brilliant news you should find it so helpful, I felt someone finally understood what I was talking about I nearly cried with relief!! I found it helpful to write a time line of what had happened up to that point which he seemed to find useful and kept to discuss with the other surgeons.
hope you have a really positive appointment and you come out with a plan.
