I am aware that the general rule is diagnosis by laproscopy however I have been diagnosed with endometriosis due to lots of cysts on my ovaries and the consultant and sonographers being able to see the endometrial tissue- I know this is uncommon to get a diagnosis in this way but I wondered if anyone else had?
I have been in significant pain and sickness so my cyst removal surgery has been moved to urgent so should be in the next couple of weeks or so I just wanted to hear peoples stories of having endo cyst removed.
Thanks 😀

It was 3 years ago now, and the ovary is still stuck (as confirmed by my most recent lap a month ago!) but doesn't really cause me any additional problems!
The finding of endometriomas on a scan is a confirmed diagnosis of endo (ovarian). Just be aware that this is often an indicator of deep endo elsewhere, usually rectovaginal, so if you have symptoms of that it would be wise to have another scan by an expert in ultrasound detection of deep endo.
I no longer have ovaries and never had any on them. But I developed a huge complex one that was partly solid and partly cystic in my pouch of Douglas after a hysterectomy and ovary removal. But that grew under HRT and is rare.
