I’m now 3 weeks post op, I was told a small amount of endometriosis was found and removed but I don’t know much more as I was still pretty out of it so I didn’t ask, still haven’t got a date for post op appointment through.
Just wondering if anyone developed food sensitivities that weren’t there before after a lap? I was diagnosed with IBS about 10 years ago but generally if I didn’t eat too much junk I was okay. Occasionally I had to completely cut out peppers and onions and after a while slowly reintroduce them.
However I’ve been poorly a few times recently & I don’t know if I’m over sensitive to everything I was before or if it’s dairy (had a few gluten free creamy pasta dishes recently). Dairy has never been a big problem before though so wondering if the op has triggered it and if it’s likely to improve as my recovery continues?
Thanks

Hi, have you had any tests? I don't eat dairy, I have IBS as well as endometriosis and found that dairy was making it much worse I feel much better not having dairy. It may be worth keeping a food diary, that really helps me. Good luck!
Hi!Thanks so much for your reply, hope you are well!
When I was initially diagnosed with IBS they tested me against the big ones and I was ‘just’ IBS, but I haven’t had any since.
I figured out that gluten made be feel more unwell as my boyfriends sister is gluten free and lived with us for a few months during lockdown so I made a lot of GF meals and swapped to GF bread and pasta.
I’m going to start keeping a diary to keep track of when I feel bad and what I’ve eaten, thank you ☺️
The bowel can become quite sensitive after any abdo surgery, so it may be that it hasn't settled down yet post surgery and that is why you are reacting to more foods. Try and go for foods that are easier to digest like soups, stews or smoothies. Hope it settles down for you soon.
Oh sorry, I thought I had replied to you!Thank you for your suggestions, it has settled down a lot more recently (not as much as before but much much better) x
