Hi, Yes I used to suffer daily with pain when sitting down, sometimes I would just rather stand! Try using a cushion or pillow to sit on, it does ease the pain. Are you on regular pain relief?

Have a look at getting a coccyx support cushion. Made a difference to me.

Thanks for replying I will try it thank you xx

I suffer with this! I can’t sit for long periods of time because it hurts too much! I get shooting pains down my thighs and pelvis. I’ve not found anything that works to stop this yet, even with pain relief, the only thing that works for me is walking around or lying down

Yes, before my op (excision & hysterectomy for adenomyosis). Couldn’t sit in a chair and certainly not a car. I found a memory foam cushion helped a bit and I got a bed wedge cushion and little table to work from bed. It helped if I slouched a bit but I’m paying for that now with back problems. Are you seeing a consultant?

I have telephone appointment on 12th because I’ve been referred from another hospital who can’t do it he has my scans so hoping he just gets it all out now I’ve had enough

Maybe make some notes on all of your pain so you don’t forget to mention any. I found that really helped. It’s good they’ll have the scans but definitely mention not being able to sit down. I saw my consultant face-to-face and he often commented afterwards about me not being able to stay on the chair for long.

Ha ha!! Oh I wouldn’t worry about that. I bet they’ve heard it all 😆 Good luck x

Hi, I can relate. I'm struggling with this and have been for quite a few months. I would say my pain isn't really "shooting" like you have described but is more an uncomfortable cramp-like ache that comes on quite suddenly if I sit in the same position for too long. Sitting at a desk is the worst for me and armchairs/sofas aren't so bad. I work part-time from home in a desk job and find that I can only sit comfortably for a short amount of time. For some reason the pain gets particularly bad if I sit down too much in the mornings. I have bought myself a standing desk and now, I now try to work standing up for 2-3 hours each morning. That has helped, but I do find my legs start to ache a bit after about two hours of standing. I also find going for a short 20 or 30 min walk in the mornings helps lessen my pain. Then in the afternoons, I sit down at my desk for 1-2 hours. Have you managed to find anything else that helps you?
