Trying to conceive with one fallopian...7 months after surgery

I am 27 and had surgery to get rid of the endometriosis last year. My symptoms have dramatically improved but wanted to get reassurance on how long it took some of you to get pregnant afterwards. I have been told to wait a year, but of course I was assumed it would happen already.

Is anyone else going through a similar situation or can give any advice/words of encouragement?

Hi- I’ve had endo since my teens (diagnosed early 30’s) and I was born with only one ovary, one Fallopian tube and other absent organs (only discovered during private endo surgery to remove endo!) and was told I wouldn’t conceive naturally as my solitary fallopian tube was glued by endo and totally blocked.

I stopped all forms of contraception and fell pregnant immediately (no ‘trying’ at all).

I fell pregnant with my second child the same way- immediately.

My sister in law, who had no endo, no issues whatsoever, took a year to conceive, so there’s no way of knowing how quickly it’ll happen for you, but I’m proof it’s very much possible. Best of luck to you! X

I agree with TamazinG. There’s no way to know for sure. I was diagnosed stage 4 endo finally after ttc for years and doc told me I had a 3 year window post lap to try. So I did. To no avail. I was 33 when proper diagnosed. So had ttc for 5 years first. Then again for a year or so after diagnosis. Moved on to adoption as I was getting older and didn’t want to miss any opportunity (IVF not covered in USA). Then again I’ve had friends conceive naturally after 9 years of fertility trx. Then adopt. Then conceive two kids after adopting their first. I’ve had friends conceive twins at age 43 with IVF. You just never know. But I wouldn’t wait. Only advice is don’t wait. Lol. I’d say don’t worry but we all know how annoying it is when we’ll meaning folks tell us that. Or “just relax”. My favorite 😉
