Prostap before hysterectomy

A question on prostap.....

I’ve seen my specialist again today, after lap and MRI it has been decided a full hysterectomy is my best way forward.

I have to start prostap injections for 6 months before she will operate.

Just looking for some advice on how you’ve felt during prostap?

What to expect, be prepared for etc.

I’d rather ask you lovely bunch before I google it and scare myself 😂

Hi JH21, im into my 3rd month adter full hysterectomy and cervix removed. I can't express how good i feel, years of pain discomfort constantly bleeding all over.I would recommend it to anyone suffering with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis like i have been formany years. I understand everyone's healing and pain threshold is at different levels, i only had paracetamol and ibuprofen first few days, you need to take it easy as healing inside takes alot longer. Good luck hope everything goes well for you, you will be a different woman when its all over you will get your life back 😁

Did you have prostap before operation?

She has put me on prostap and now my doc has prescribed HRT too.

Not had either yet, first injection tomorrow.

I’m more scared of the side effects of prostap then I am the actual operation.

I just don’t know what to expect from prostap.

I mean okay there’s the box standard side effects, but I like to hear people’s personal views.

Did you have any side effects?

Hi JH21, yes i had the prostate injection into my tummy, i didnt feel anything.It helped to stop my bleeding, im not on HRT i didn't really need it as im 53 i think i was nearly through the menopause it was the excessive bleeding causing me to have 5 admissions in 12 months 2 operations.

I kept on hemorrhaging causing my HB levels to drop drastically i had to have 2 blood transfusions before my op. Im delighted its all over now got my strength back not feeling tired any more. Take care x
