Been waiting for my surgery date to come through as expected will be in January, feeling happy that I finally have a date but also worried this could be cancelled due covid and tiers in areas.
My area is in tier 3 had my injection for zoladex yesterday and nurse at the hospital said there in a good place to start operations again fingers crossed 🤞
Will be having a hysterectomy as planned for a while now also seeing my consultant a week before to discuss in full detail, then have pre op then covid swab. Anyone got any advice or tips before my surgery? Xx

That’s great news 😀I’m sure they’ll be doing their best not to postpone surgeries again, they’ll get too far behind.
Find out roughly how long you’ll be in, it will help to know what to take. I took snacks, headphones for mobile, eye cover, ear plugs (they offered those, and eye cover, at the hospital)
I was in two nights, it ended up being via lap rather than open.
Pre order any meds you might need to keep you going from GP, especially pain relief.
Write down anything you think of to ask the consultant. On the morning of mine I gave him and asked if he could add a procedure, doing that is what changed the op to a lap. He was pleased I’d asked.
I asked GP for a fit note from 17 Nov to 10 Jan. it was easier re claiming sick benefit. I’m hoping I’ll be ok to look for a new job.I made sure bedding was sorted beforehand. I did buy some of those bed liners as I’d read you can get bleeding after, but didn’t get that much. Take some pads for after, I woke with a crap one.
Amazon prime was a life saver for watching mundane movies, I couldn’t sleep the first night.
Loads of Christmas movies on there so concentration isn’t needed 😆I’m trying to figure how to eat more without pain afterwards. I did have bread with my butter earlier!
I’ve had it for the last year or so, really annoying. Lost so much weight, have to keep on at GP’s to do things. They’ve sent a message to Rheumatology last week to see if it might be autoimmune. How much are you struggling?
Sorry to hear that let’s hope they find out what’s going on with the loosing weight etc, I’m alright pain up and down thanks off Christmas shopping just to get out for a bit 🙈 I’m dreading it as it will be busy
