I’ve been moving around a lot and so have had lots of different gps. I’ve finally settled somewhere and my new gp has referred me for a gynae appointment and hopefully a laparoscopy to finally confirm endo. But she wants to put me back on the pill again to help with my symptoms
I was on the mini pill (Desorex) for a while and it obviously helped and stopped my periods which was great. But it definitely made me gain weight (I don’t care what the ‘research’ says). I also just don’t like being on the pill, it makes me feel anxious messing with my hormones and not knowing much about the side effects etc.
Has anyone every had any success with any other treatments for endo? Dietary or other meds which help? Just wanting to look at all my options before I decide to go back on the pill.
Thanks

Hey, there are other things that work. Alternatively therapies and medicines.
I have done these while on the pill but am too scared to come off as I have severe endo. The only useful thing the combined pill achieves is a period every 3 months. It doesn't control the endo or the symptoms.
Happy to share my research and experiences if you send me a private message. Can't post links to other websites here as endo UK doesn't allow that x
Hey there are lots of different treatments and usually docs will only do a laparoscopy once you've tried other ways to manage symptoms. I had the pill, the depo, the coil and then eventually Norethisterone to take 3 times a day. Nothing has sorted my symptoms, the Norethisterone did stop the bleeding for a few months but the pain was there constantly.I would have the apt with gynae and discuss with them, have you had the endometriosis confirmed? There are dietary ways of helping to lessen the symptoms. Doing yoga and gentle exercise can help too.
