I’m new here but I’ve recently just been told I “most likely have endometriosis” as I have all the symptoms. However I did get an ultrasound a while back and that came back clear. Still waiting to be referred to gynaecology for further tests... thinking of going private.
My doctor said for me to try getting off the pill and going on the Contraceptive injection, I’ve done this, it’s only been nearly two weeks and I’ve not seen any improvement. Forgive me for being impatient but I have had struggles backwards and forwards with doctors telling me to just take paracetamol since OCTOBER. I’m in a long term relationship and sometimes it can really affect me in that part of my life.
Does anyone have any advice / help / recommendations as to what I should be doing to help myself right now? This is more of a rant than anything else but sometimes we just need to don’t we?!

It took me til 35 to be diagnosed and i have suffered with periods and other issues for as long as i remember. My ultrasound was fine but then i went private and it was the first time i felt taken serious. I had a Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy right away and i have endometriosis, cysts on my ovaries and adhesions. If you can go private, it may be worth it, i certainly felt it was. I hope you can get some answers. Keep pushing for them xx
Thats good to hear! I honestly felt so lost for a long time and got so tired of the vague answers! I found this site too late but find it really helps 😊
Sorry to interrupt but my wife has suffered with cysts of the ovaries a couple times, and would treat it with drinking 1 tbsp of Organic Apple cider (Bragg’s brand for her) once in the morning empty stomach and once pm and both times totally cleared them up! All the best ladies!
The depo injection made my situation worse, however that is not to say it wouldn't work for you. Contraception is a game of trial and error. The combined pill made my pain better, but this only shows how different we all are.
I ended up going private too... Got fobbed off one too many times. It's sad that we have to fight so hard to make ourselves believed.
Ultrasound scans don't tend to show 'superficial' endometriosis - mine also came back clear and yet when they did my laparoscopy they found some here, there and everywhere - and tend to focus on cysts or bigger obstructions in the pelvic area.
Hi! I’m in a similar position to you - my ultrasound was fine and I’ve been told I ‘probably’ have endometriosis. My doctor has recommended I try the pill (again). You know your body so trust what you think is right going forward!! Good luck and take care xx
I had always had heavy monthly and discomfort for years though lived through it with scheduling. My GP called me immediately to go see a gynae upon having CA-125 and CA19-9 markers result when I had a yearly test in my 40s. May be it might be worthwhile to check those markers ? It certainly is not easy finding out what to do to ease the whole issue. Hopefully, you'll find a good and sincere gynae soon, private or not.
