Since the start of the year I’ve been getting burning/tingling in my left groin/thigh area which has got progressively worst and now means I can’t stand or walk for more than 5 mins. This led to me going private to see a gynae and I had my first lap 2 days ago where I was diagnosed with extensive endometriosis in 4 areas. The clinic letter says all areas were “ablated”. Straight after surgery I had a false sense of elation whereby I had no pain at all - naturally now the anaesthetic has worn off and I’m back home, I’ve realised that was wishful thinking. I know they say it can get worst before better but my leg pain feels as bad as ever and I’m terrified it’s something else that they’ve missed?! Is it definitely endo related?! Will it ever improve?!

Hi, sorry to hear about your experience 🙁 I get pain in a very similar place- top of thigh/groin area, and also my leg goes numb/I get pain down the back of it during a period. I think a key question is- does yours get worse during periods? If so, it could well be endo. Wondering if you know where your endo is located? I had some on my uterosacral ligaments, which might be causing my issues- but I’m worried I may also have some endo buried deeper down that the surgeon missed. Unfortunately, ablation is usually not a great surgical technique for removing endo (excision is better), so it may be that yours was not properly removed. However, as you said, your lap was only two days ago so try & give it time before you worry too much.
Thanks Sarah. It does get worst near period yes but it comes on nearly every day. My surgical letter said “Extensive areas of endometriosis throughout the Pouch of Douglas, both Uterosacral ligaments and overlying the pelvic side walls” - so I guess that does explain the leg pain?! I’ve had “restless” legs for years around my period but it was just this year that the pain in my legs became unbearable
