Time between pre op and actual surgery

Hi ladies, hope you’re all managing. Just a quick question. How long have you waited from having the pre op assessment to actually having your lap/surgery? Just wondering, I’m waiting, going into my third week now. Last time back in 2012, I’m sure it was pretty much the following week, thanks in advance x

Back in November it was the week before op. Give gynae dept a call to see what’s happening, could just be a lack of communication.

Hi! I had my pre op two weeks ago and the nurse was very open and said they were doing the assessment in the hope that they could get me in or at the very least at the top of the waiting list for when restrictions started easing. She said that the assessment was valid for 3 months and that it would likely be at the end of the three months. I got my appointment yesterday and I’ll be going in on Tuesday 😱 I really do think it varies between NHS trusts but agree with Moon_maiden, giving them a call can’t hurt. I had my pre-op in January 2020, then had surgery scheduled finally in November 2020, with a quick updating pre-op over the phone to check nothing had changed since January!
